Bangkok, Thailand Trip November 2015

Bangkok is one of the most busiest cities in the world. So many tourists are visiting this place. I was there together with my boss and 2 colleagues early part of November. When we were looking for a place to visit for our inhouse incentive trip, my boss suggested this place but I had to admit, I was not excited...hmmmm....I want to go to other cities or countries that I have not yet visited or maybe, Sydney again. I have been to Bangkok three (3) times already! Since some of my companions agreed to explore the city, I did not have any choice but to go with them and of course I have to agree with my boss...hahahaha! I told him we dont want to visit the temples. We want to see other places like the zoo and experience new adventure.  Anyway, looking back,  I can say that I had a great time. Done one of my bucket list there - to ride on a gentle giant - ELEPHANT! Huh!? That was hard and I don't know where I got my courage to do it at that time knowing that I was afraid to ride a horse in Balesin. hihihihi!  It was really an unforgettable experience. We explored the city for four days and three nights. We were booked in Baiyoke Sky Hotel. The hotel is near to the market areas and shopping center wherein a lot of cheap clothes, shoes, fruits, streetfoods, etc are for sale. Just like "Divisoria" here in the Philippines.  Our first meal there was inside the hotel - We had the "Fruit Buffet". It was so refreshing eating all kinds of fruits and ice cream. I enjoyed eating the mangoes with sticky rice, lanzones, grapes, cute young coconut, rambutan and ofcourse, the smelly fruit durian! hahahaha!

I was the only one who ate Durian. Shared to them that the first time I ate that fruit was when my father brought it from Indonesia - it was frozen. He told us that we will get P100 pesos if we try to eat it. I tried a little and have learned to eat the fruit somehow. In the evening we had dinned and watched the an amazing show "Siam Niramit Show".

Buffet Dinner at Siam Niramit, Bangkok with my colleagues
Enjoyed the Siam NIramit Show

Our second day destination were the Bangkok Safari World and the Marine Park. The place was so big and there were a lot of shows. Anyway, we watched the Elephant Show - there I purchased a painting drawn by an elephant and I had the opportunity to ride at the Elephant's back for free! I was so nervous but I did it anyway. :) After roaming around the area for almost five (5) hours watching different animal shows and taking a number of photos...we got tired and decided to visit the Marine Park. The cab driver who brought us there decided to just wait for us and he was so helpful. I need to let you know that upon purchasing the tickets for Safari World, there is a separate ticket for Marine park that the teller told us not to lose or else we cannot enter the place. My boss gave it to me for safekeeping. Anyway, to cut the long story short - I lost the tickets! The driver was my interpreter trying to negotiate and explain to the person in charge of the gate that I misplaced it and since it was 4 of us, they told me that I need to pay again amounting to almost 4,000 pesos per peson. Whoa! Okay, my companions will be so disappointed and ofcourse, it is a waste of money to pay again for that so they said we will just go home. Sometimes when the situation is so difficult and you don't know what to do...who else will you turn to? I silently asked God to help me and uttered a short prayer. After some discussions and some telephone calls made by the gatekeeper- I was asked to go again to the teller booth and I was given again a pass to the Marine park. Hehehehe.. I was so happy and ofcourse, thanked God for the intervention. :) We toured the marine park and used the cab we rented. There were so many wild animals like bears, lions, tigers....it was restricted to open the car windows. I remembered the sign there -"The animals have the right of way". After the sunset we headed back to our hotel or dinner.

Enjoyed feeding these tall animals - giraffes with Mona.

Fisrt time to ride on an Elephant. A very gentle giant indeed!

Bout this for 800 baht during the Elephant Show. This cherry blossom paining was done by an Elephant Painter in Safari World Bangkok.

Some animals found inside Marine Park.

On our third day, we visited the " Floating Market, Elephant Village, Orchid Farm and watched the Crocodile Show. We also went shopping at the Central Plaza wherein we bought some Lacoste shirts....around 20% cheaper compared to the prices here. We also bought our "pasalubongs" in the "market" in front of our hotel.

Floating market - one of the tourist attractions.

A thirty minutes Elephant ride...much easier than my first one. At the Elephant Village after the show.

Heart stopping crocodile show. I was so nervous watching this performance.

Fourth day we spent it in " 3D Art in Paradise" and proceeded to the airport in the evening. We have experienced the Bangkok heavy traffic for almost two (2) hours on the last day of our trip. I think I have shared too much information so better see the photos now. :)

Inside 3d Art in Paradise...I don't want to share other photos here...for my eyes only! lol

Balesin Island Trip - October 2014

Balesin's Welcome Center

Hello everyone! It's 2016 now and I realized that I have so many pending trips that I was not able to post on this blog-"Pieces of Memories". Yes, I have to admit, I missed writing on this blog and it's been a long time! I will not give you another "common" excuse but well, I just forget about this site! hahahaha! It was funny that I recently googled my name and found this site and remind myself to do blogging again. LOL!

This Balesin Island trip is one of my favorite local trips so far. It is not only because of the luxuries and happy memories I experienced there but the beautiful and serenity of the island.  I was there October of 2014, another incentive trip from one of our vendors, Microsoft. I was with the distributors and some top Microsoft Resellers here in the Philippines, plus of course, partner account managers from Microsoft.  It was about 25 to 30 minutes chartered plane ride from Alphaland Hangar in Pasay City.

Balesin Island is a 500 hectare island in Quezon owned by Alphaland Corporation compose of Seven (7) parts/countries namely - Mykonos, Bali, Toscana, Balesin, St Tropez, Costa del Sol and Phuket. We spent three days and two nights there and we were able to visit all the areas. Welcome lunch was held in Costa del Sol wherein I tasted the yummy Costa del Sol's "flat lechon". I really don't like pork but I tried it and it was deliciously roasted. We were all booked in Mykonos. We have a very spacious villa complete with overlooking the sea "jacuzzi pool" on the second floor. Remembering my experience there now is wanting to be back there again! Ooops! Another wish list spotted! hehehehe. All the food we had there were served depending on the countries we stayed. Like when we had lunch buffet in Phuket area- the menu served were Thai dishes like phad thai noodles, tom yam goong etc. So we got to experience the different tastes of food, the villa's structure, the designs of furniture and fixtures of each rooms and the environment.  It was hard to describe it so if you want to experience a beautiful paradise like island - Balesin Island Club  is highly recommended! At the time we went there, the island is exclusive for members only, just bring with you a member friend in short. hmmmmm So many activities also that you can try like, horse back riding, fishing, biking, swimming, there's a gym and ofcourse a play area for kids. Here are some of the photos taken there so that you will have some ideas on the place. Enjoy! :)
