Hongkong Family Vacation - Disneyland and Ocean Park (Nov 30 -Dec 2,2014)

I always look forward for our family vacation - it does not matter if it is in the Philippines or abroad - the most important thing is we have time together as a family and we enjoy each other's company with our  new adventure, new places to discover as we build happy memories together. Since I have a lot of rewards points when I used my credit card, I was able to avail of the promo of  Mabuhay Miles and Philippine Airlines  - 50% off for all destinations, an early Christmas treat indeed to all members released 1st week of October. I booked online using Agoda for our hotel. I chose a four star hotel - BP International. I remember my daughter every time we checked in on a five star hotel here in the Philippines, she told me that she always feel like a "princess". It always makes me smile because it means that I am a "queen"? hahahaha!  Since we did a lot of MTR rides in Hongkong, we also experienced a lot of walking in the train stations.Senior citizens and students have discounts of more than 50% of the fare. It is awesome to be a senior citizen there, what do you think? hehehe There was a customer service personnel in every station wherein you can ask your various queries about the place. I can say that Hongkong is a friendly place for tourists, you will feel safe there. Many Hongkong young professionals can now speak English compared years ago. I've been to Hongkong several times already and I always feel excited every time I travel there as if it was again my first time. First day, we just enjoyed our surroundings and the hotel. Second day, we went to Hongkong Disneyland, third day, we went to Ocean Park and 4th day, the last day, we did our last minute shopping before we proceeded to the airport. It was a relaxing and memorable journey, we avoided group tours because we just want our trip to be simple, stress free and easy and the most important was we had a good bonding time together and of course - we  had a lot of fun! Thankful for the blessings God showered our family throughout the years. :) Apologies for the blurred photos from my Iphone. I lost my Canon SLR camera end of December on a cab and unfortunately I was not able to save a backup of our photos. Lessons learned. :)

A Disneyland photographer took a photo of us with Tinker Bell.

Sophos APAC Hanoi, Vietnam - May 2014

This is a super duper late post about my trip last May 21-23, 2014 in Hanoi, Vietnam. I attended the Sophos Asia Pacific Conference, a yearly event. So many things happened last year - some were pretty good, some things were not - but it was okay... I learned something from it. I will make another blog for the incident that happened to us few hours before new year's day...it was unfortunate that I lost my Canon IOS 600D Camera and was not able to make a copy of our family vacation trip in Hong Kong. Anyway, I learned my lesson from it. I will post about it later but for now let me share to you things I learned about this trip. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam with an estimated population of 4 million. From the airport, I saw a lot of farm lands, they plant mostly rice, bananas and vegetables. We were booked in JW Marriot Hanoi Hotel. We stayed there for 3 days. It was a very memorable learning experience. I look forward for this yearly event.

Fresh fruits every meal, buffet area just outside the conference hall inside JW Marriot Hotel

One of the speakers during the conference...I forgot his name already! lol

Nice view outside the hotel where dinner was held.
